“Acquire knowledge from the cradle to the grave!”
A hadith that is quite familiar to all of us. However, many of us still lack the interest in acquiring knowledge or learning something new. That is why we know and learn some things quite late.
Learn to admit your mistakes:
Many of our younger generation are very reluctant to admit their mistakes. Due to the influence of negative emotions like ego or casteism, we feel embarrassed to even apologize. However, there is nothing shameful in admitting your mistakes and apologizing. Forgiveness is great. Humans are made up of both right and wrong. Do you feel uncomfortable admitting your mistakes? Remember, we are human because we make mistakes. If we were 100% right, we would be angels! Therefore, if you make a mistake somewhere, make a habit of acknowledging it without making excuses. No one ever becomes small by asking for forgiveness.
Look around with your own eyes, not through the camera lens:
When we go to a new place, the first thing we do is take pictures or make videos and post them on Facebook and Instagram. And when we get caught up in taking pictures and recording videos, we don’t see the surroundings well. Do you also stay busy taking pictures or making videos all the time when you go to a new place? Yet many of us say that we take pictures to frame our favorite moments. And behind these fake moments captured in frames, the real favorite moments get lost. What do you need to say? You can find a lot of pictures and videos of any tourist attraction on the internet. But you don’t often get the opportunity to explore them with your own eyes.
So, look around with your own eyes, not through the camera lens.
Don’t give in to worry:
Are you missing out on all the joys of life while worrying? Well, let me ask you a question, have you ever rocked in a rocking chair? Worrying about something is very similar to rocking in a rocking chair. Just as rocking in a rocking chair does not get any work done, similarly, worrying about something does not actually help. Rather, the swinging of worry only increases doubts and frustration, and nothing gets done! On the contrary, it makes you feel uncomfortable and causes you pain.
Therefore, do not indulge in the worries that come to your mind about any matter.
There is nothing wrong with repeating good deeds:
Doing something new every day has become a trend these days. “Today I did this, tomorrow I will do something else.”, “Today I ate Chinese food, tomorrow I will eat Thai food.” – this is the current situation. But there is nothing wrong with repeating the same deeds in the case of good deeds. You greeted someone today, but tomorrow you will not greet anyone because you will do something new. Is it right to do this? Good deeds like greeting someone, helping them cross the road, helping the poor, planting trees, or talking to people with a smile should be practiced regularly.
And so from now on, let good deeds be repeated every day. Because happiness increases with the repetition of good deeds!
Avoid listening to people’s words and forming negative opinions about someone:
“Dude, you know what he does?”, “God, how could he do that?” – Avoid listening to such strange rumors that suddenly arise about someone. At least once, talk to the person about whom the rumors are going on. Be empathetic, try to imagine yourself in that person’s place. You will see that in most cases, if we were in that person’s place, we would do the same thing.
Therefore, never take a person negatively.
Keep ideas in your notebook, not in your head:
Does anyone keep track of how many million-dollar ideas have ended up in the graveyard because they were not written down in a notebook? To prevent this foolish belief from taking your ideas to the grave with you, write them down in a notebook. Then start working on them. One thing you can do is always keep a small notebook and a pen with you so that you can jot down an idea as soon as it comes to your mind. And yes, most of our ideas come to us in the bathroom. So if you want, you can keep a small notebook and a pen in the bathroom too. You never know when you can become world famous by using an idea. An idea can bring about a huge change!
You will find peace in contentment:
There are countless reasons to be happy and joyful in our lives. Today, the life you are regretting and complaining about is the life that someone else desires. Therefore, it is better to be grateful for the good aspects of life instead of complaining about your own life. And I will share with you a wonderful trick for doing this. Every night, write down three things that you are happy, joyful, and grateful for that day. Maybe you ate your favorite food that day, or your mother fed you that day. Or maybe you finished reading a favorite book that day, anything like that.
You will see that life is not bad!
Do not add excuses to forgiveness:
Forgiveness is a great virtue. Asking for forgiveness and forgiving things are the characteristics of a great and kind person. However, there is one condition. When apologizing, never add any excuses to it. This will make that apology worthless. If you have to admit your fault and apologize, then apologize only after accepting full responsibility. Do not make excuses with forgiveness.
English is not scary:
When it comes to speaking English, many of us start to tremble with fear. Many people do not want to speak English anymore because of broken English. However, English is also a language like Bengali. But since childhood, considering this language as a subject, we have turned it into a real terror. The most uncomfortable thing is that some people use English as a criterion to measure a person’s skills. But the real thing is that someone’s inertia in speaking English can never reduce the value of that person’s other skills. And English is just a language, to overcome inertia, you need to overcome fear and practice a little. The rest will follow naturally.
Don’t hesitate to ask questions:
Many of us have friends in our class who are quite familiar to the teacher and in some cases are even quite loved. Because they ask questions in class. They clear all their confusions by asking the teacher in class. We, ordinary students, get bored and call them idiots. “Don’t you understand this?”, “Why are you asking so many questions?”, “Where is Antel from?” – these kinds of comments are often heard by them. But do you know the real story? He became a fool by asking questions in class, but even though he was a fool, he knew a lot. He cleared up his confusions. And I, you, meaning those of us who remained silent without asking questions, we remained fools for life.
So, learn to ask questions. Ask questions in class, seminars, sessions, meetings, wherever. Develop your curiosity.
Life is beautiful:
Our life is really beautiful and simple. We ourselves complicate it. If you don’t let the poisonous feeling of negativity enter your life, you will see that life is actually much more joyful.
Smile, smile, be happy! Life is much more beautiful.
Don’t be stingy in praising:
Always appreciate everything good. And yes, remember, praising and flattering, or in plain Bengali, are two different things. Praise and encourage everyone around you for their good deeds, good habits, and good aspects. By doing so, you will see that they will be inspired and will also encourage you for your good deeds.
So, from today, there is no shame in praising!
Don’t harbor anger:
Don’t harbor old anger and resentment. Doing so will only cause you pain. It is said that harboring anger means drinking poison and wishing for the death of another. If you harbor anger, resentment, hatred, and sadness towards someone else, nothing will happen to the other person. You will suffer yourself. It is better to shake off the accumulated old anger, sadness, anger, and resentment without indulging in it! So, blow these negative feelings out of your life.
Let me give you another piece of advice. Never make any decision in anger because they are wrong decisions in most cases. And even if you are very happy, never make a promise again. Statistics show that those promises are not kept properly!
Mistakes are meaningless if you carry them throughout your life:
We all make mistakes at some point in our lives, which we have to deal with in the near future. And the reason for the damage is not that mistake in the real sense. The damage is mainly due to carrying that mistake for many days. Well, don’t you remember the concept of Sunk Cost? These mistakes should also be considered as Sunk Cost and forgotten. Because what is done is done. Right?
Since there is no opportunity to undo by pressing Control Z in human life. Therefore, it is wise to forget the mistakes and start anew.
No stinginess in sharing ideas:
We Bengalis consider each other as our competitors. We think that if we share any of our ideas, others will steal them and run away. But that is not the case at all. Whenever an idea or plan comes to mind, share it quickly. Because then you will see that you are meeting like-minded people. And then you do that work together. This is how change comes. If an idea is not shared as soon as it comes to mind, that idea ends up in the graveyard. Our short, beautiful life is made up of mistakes and corrections. May learning never stop from the beginning to the end of this life! Best wishes to everyone!
Never Stop Learning!
